Ed Hambek started Trimco in 1971 while still in high school in Westminster, CA. In 1974, Ed started installing signs, repairing automotive vinyl seats, and pinstriping vehicles at the local dealerships. By 1985, he expanded Trimco by providing window tinting using Llumar products.

 

Ed's son, Mark Hambek, grew up working side by side with his father at the car dealerships. In the late 90's Ed pursued design work for automotive manufacturers, with many of his products on display at the SEMA show year after year.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Mark took over the family business of window tinting and paint protection with the same business model servicing car dealerships.  He provided auto accessory packages that included window tinting, leather interior, wheels and tires, spoilers, and running boards. It was clear that window tinting was the backbone of the accessory industry.
